Found a couple of really strange dolls in a store and just had to bring one of them home with me. We are getting closer to Halloween and these weird doll clones (think they are even clone doll clones) fits right in with the season to come. They have some similarities to the Simba dolls Mystic Girlz and yet not. They are "high school" dolls and spin off the Monster High dolls. Sort of. With a rock theme. Or something. Vampire High?

Painted vampire teeth and spooky pink eyes.

The logo on the box is similar to the Monster High logo. Not too close but obvious enough.

There were only the two orange/black versions, none of the ones pictured on the back.

A bunch of the girls accompanied Ester and Ruth on their vacation trip - and got joined by Dionne during their stayaway time. They ripped the wardrobe apart trying to find the ult concert gear to wear. I think they managed quite alright and match each other equally well. Don't you agree?

... and then we have these two. What do you mean, party dress? What's wrong with our wardrobe??

Well..... seems their meeting with the Fresh Prince worked just fine, despite their non change of wardrobe.

A closer look at the girls:

Sakis held a concert and the girls attended.

(yahyah... lame writeup but I don't have any fantasy cells working)

Autographs will be given afterwards...

 Ooops, what's going on here?

Ester managed to charm a really personal shot out of Sakis.

Yup, really personal...

A fellow collector on Facebook had found a nude boy doll she wanted identified. She provided us with decent photographs and a shot of his neck stamp. We googled that and came up with Sakis Rouvas. Sakis is a greek singer that has competed in the Eurovision Song Contest, a couple of times previous decade. He looked interesting enough for me to widen the search and bid'n buy one on eBay. He arrived from Greece the other week and I took some shots of him. As he also came with me on vacation, my travel dolls have been on a concert with him! Sort of.

The DVD had come loose during shipping but I reattached it to the liner - and also gave him back the microphone stand that has come loose from the rubber bands holding it.

For some reason I got the impression the Sakis doll had molded hair. Even as he arrived and I saw the doll live, I still thought so. Then all of a sudden, as I deboxed him, I realized he has rooted hair - as well as partly painted details. Cool! Too bad I am way too lazy to find the time to fix my dolls' hair.

He is wearing an authentic scene costume with black pleather pants and a white tee with the greek flag printed on the chest. I have yet to find actual photos of him wearing this, but the box piccies do show him in this gear. He makes a nice doll!

Checking my photo archives I came across these photos of my Lingerie #4. I was taking photos for a whole other reason and she got to be my model of the day.

She has been one of my wish dolls for years but I have never really put an effort into buying her. Bob Mackie's dolls was very expensive when they were new. Today they are way too cheap - but I think a lot of the reason for this is their 90's makeup. Bob Mackie designed really out-of-the-world dolls once. Lots of embroideries and sequins. A friend of mine sold her Queen of Hearts and I was happy to finally be able to have her! Besides the red Queen I want the golden Sun Goddess and the gorgeous turqouise Neptune - the first Mackie faced doll.

She is never removed from her liner - still attached by sewing thread s and that ugly tape.

Bob Mackie's original sketch is included as a print in the box.

She has heart shaped earrings!

Lots of pearls and sequins

OMG... She took forever to get here but today, the mailman left a parcel on my doorstep. Finally! She has been travelling dark and murky waters for seven weeks, shipped by Surface Mail. Slow boat from China? Via China maybe? Doesn't matter. She is here now and we can both take a deep breath of relief, the lady who sent her, and I. And my goodness, was she worth the wait? Absolutely. Definitely! Look at her! My Queen of the Night. La Reine de La Nuit

New Orleans 2013 National Barbie Doll Collectors' Convention doll, AA version.

The guys behind her creation, are Edge of 17

OK, some better shots then:

He box liner is signed by Raphael.

She is a Platinum Label Edition (<1000 made)

She has  ringlets in silver and black.

A sparkly nose stud. Flocked hair on the sides.

French Lily on the choker necklace.

Stud adorned shoes and silver skull staff

Black nails. I wish she had another type of hands with more refined nails.

Utterly gorgeous Nichelle sculpt with icy blue and piercing eyes and dark blood red lips.

Today is a first. A duplicate blog post. I am lurking about trying to figure out how to do a new section on Kattis Dolls. I wanted to add some pages with the doll body changes. Not just face sculpts but the other side of the doll as well. Browsing around the 'net looking for this and that, I stumbled, yet again upon Roxanne's blog and she has some great posts about doll bodies and their articulation, as well as head removals etc. Check it Out!
